It’s always odd to see Slovenian mentioned in places you wouldn’t expect. One of the last places I would ever suspect to see it is the comic strip Cathy, which has been running since I was born. It makes for some serious cognitive dissonance.
(Thanks A. Medved!)

I would hasten to inform your readers that the fact that I alerted you to this should in no way be taken to indicate that I am a regular or even occasional reader of “Cathy”.
Credit for discovering this should go to the older sister of A. Medved.
Slovenia has definitely gone mainstream…
Even first place, before Mexico
A. Medved: Didn’t you used to have a pink Cathy murse saying “AACCK!” or something like that on the front? I’ll definitely buy it off of you if you still have it. “ACCKK” totally sums up how I feel sometimes.
And Fabio is right: Slovenia is totally mainstream now. Maybe it’s time to head to Papau New Guinea or somewhere else to stay cutting edge..
So… Um, why is the JPG called “bleach-is-tasty”?
Good question. Only Medved knows the answer. I’m guessing the voices in his head suggested it.
My sister, whose scanning skills are limited, sent this image to me via a new technology called EMAIL. The title reflects the relative desirability of reading “Cathy” vs. drinking bleach.
Oh, and:
Exegisis of Cathy’s hyperhidrosis.
Also: ACCKK!
It took some effort, but I knew there was some way I could find a connection… you know, like the protagonist’s father in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and his success in finding Greek roots to Japanese words?
Anyway, at the investment conference in Ljubljana this week, the guy from Oxford Intelligence kept saying Slovenia is like California. I mean… he stressed it maybe five times.
Cathy’s author lives in California. So there you go.
Krneki
Did he elaborate? Or just stress the one-liner?
