Great Yugoslav Album Covers, Part 20

slovenska-popevka-prvih-stirideset.jpg
Slovenian Pop Songs, the first 40, featuring hits from 1962 to 1980.

Why didn’t the artist also draw a big green vein going down the ice cream cone?

And just in case you’re wondering: None of the 40 song titles on the album mention ice cream. So there’s no connection or anything. It’s just random Slovenian mayhem… but an absolutely stellar 20th entry.

What green vain?! It may be the ungodly hour and my tired eyes or my “high-end” monitor, but I can’t see anything green on there…

Also… I don’t know why, but I kind of like the cover… It kind of makes me think Sixties! instantly!

On the other hand… The make-up also makes me think of a certain old and scary “RUF AN!!!” lady on a german TV channel… Freaky…

maybe it’s better if Slovene singers have an icecream cornet in their hands. Looks a bit like a microphone, but doesn’t transmit any sound…

anonymus: I suggest throwing away your high-end monitor — or giving it to me, I’ll throw it away for you.

No, actually there is no vein. There should be but the artist failed to take the next logical step.

Dietmar: There’s a lot of heresy coming out of you these days. As soon as Wordpress releases a “Burn this commenter at the stake” plugin, your days are finished.

Michael: green vein? All my veins are red. At least they appear that way on the occasion that I look downward.

I cannot stop wondering about the hairstyle: is this Afro a la Slovenie or something?

Michael, what about the Nr. 20? What else is included in the first 40?

It is a heck of a ‘fro.

For 20 I meant that this is the 20th installment of Great Yugoslav Album Covers and thus demanded something truly bodacious.

THX. Here is a possibility to find out about the songs included…

I totally failed to make the phallic connection. And I like dick!
Anyway, I like this cover, kind of Bowieish, with a twist ;)

Yes, this is a twisted cover, unintentionally or subliminally pornographic! :)
    God I love it!
