Slovenian immigrants on the way to England to abuse their health care system. [source]
Chris and Tjaša kindly tipped me off to this humdinger: The massively popular British tabloid News of the World recently ran this story about dirty non-English-speaking immigrants and the totally awesome privileges they enjoy. Included among the unwashed herd’s many perks: Preferential medical treatment over native-born suckers.
Unsubtly headlined in Polish, the story also includes samples phrases from some of the many Slavic languages used by the immigrant hordes, including Slovene. But for a paper so deeply concerned about Slavs, they don’t seem to have many people on hand who know the language. Behold:

Isn’t it odd that the largest English-speaking newspaper in the world doesn’t know anyone who speaks Slovene or Croatian? You’d think they’d have a contact or two…
