These children are even singing in Serbo-Croatian. I think.
Tito died two years after this video was made. The performance itself is nearly 30 years old. And yet North Korea is still pushing out bizarro stuff like this. Go take a look at this video of three-year-old Mo Kin performing on the xylophone and you’ll see definite similarities.
I’m super enthralled with North Korea. It’s a country so far down the rabbit hole that I don’t think I will ever live long enough to see it come out. Watching videos from KCNA TV in Pyongyang, like North Korean high school girls or Dear Leader riding a horse, can only leave you feeling hopeless.
Thankfully it’s not all bad. For example, if you’ve never seen the music video Fuckin’ USA, you need to go treat yourself to it. It’s phenomenal.

This video is hilarious!!
The girl is indeed singing in serbo-croatian but it’s very very hard to recognize thru that squealing. I hope I’ll be able to treat myself with the rest of the videos later.
Thank you Michael! That’s the way to start a day in good way (wow, what a rhyme)!
“Den Sozialismus in seinem Lauf halten weder Ochs noch Esel auf.” No, this one is better: “Die Mauer wird in 50 und auch in 100 Jahren noch bestehen bleiben …”
Erich Honecker, 1989.
There’s hope!
Hey, by the sound of it that Fuckin’ USA song is a respectable rock piece
Jesus, Michael! Taht’s hilarious! Where dou you get these stuff?!
Heh, yeah… this one’s a classic already
I must have looked the same reciting an ode to Tito at a “proslava” in elementary school. OK, minus the pink dress.
“Tito died two years after this video was made.”
This even beats yesterday’s post.
I didn’t expect, that this music lets you suffer that long.
Is USA really any different? Or the rest of the world for that matter? I wonder what are American children thought about in schools, do they have to sing the anthem, what are they told about “the terrorists” and the rest of the world? (Here be the dragons, anyone?) What songs do they sing and which “gods” do they worship? Except money, of course. Its all really the same, only the way it manifests itself somewhat differs. I like this TV report: www.youtube.com/watch?v=H48tFhpwD74
Oh, shit, kudos to Koreans. They managed to roll 3 worst human inventions into a neat little package. Folk music including their faked smiles, that american porcelain doll miss thingy and cult of personality. It must took some serious ingenuity.
nika: The video made the e-mail rounds a while ago. I vaguely remember seeing it on a Serbian blog recently — I think it was Anegdote.
@Odisej
There it is! A believer in the European Myth of America actually getting all sorts of defensive about North Korea!
Whats the song they’re singing?
