Cygnean Apocalypse Now: Redux

lucky-swans.jpg
Still doin’ it.

It looks like the swans weathered the storm. I strongly suspect that some minor damage was done to the nest, but it looks like they’ve tidied it up in the interim so I can’t be sure. I also wasn’t able to check on the eggs — but I didn’t see any scrambled on the sidewalk.

So the unofficial winner is A. “Harry” Medved whose faith in humanity has earned him all 200 minutes of Apocalypse Now: Redux. It’s a great family movie and, according to some, one of those films you just have to see.

Thanks to everyone for playing!

I RULE! Cower* before my grizzled* ursine* mightiness!

Oh, yeah, and I’m happy to hear that the fuzzy little zygotic* cygnets** are okay.

Congrats, Mr A. Bear! Time for me to be putting on some Swans tunes, or, more soothingly, Mazzy Star’s ‘Among My Swan’… ;)

Glad to have lost… but is that plastic glasses what I see next to the nest?

I’m so glad A.Medved won!!! I thought about the swans last night and hoped that they would make it.

Are these swans not protected? When we were at Bled we had a good laugh at the signs warning us not to “interfere” with the swans. I wouldn’t dare, especially if they are anything like Canada Geese! Bite-y critters, those.

I’m also very pleased the swans made it despite being the victim on two occasions of vicious and totally unprovoked attacks by a swan while swimming in Lake Bled. The incidents were two years apart but I’m convinced it was the same swan.

Anyway, in any Super Deathmatch contest of Swan v Student my money would be on the swan every time

Hmm. I think I was robbed!! ;P Maybe we should investigate to see if the swans were bribed somehow to clean up the “minor” damage before Michael arrived. :) Darnit, don’t these swans know to hold off on cleaning up until later in the day.

All joking aside, glad Medved won.
