Flags showing the location of webcams in Slovenia.

I quite like this little thingamajig. It’s a collection of webcams around Slovenia. Just hover over a flag to see what’s happening there. If you’re ever curious, or feeling homesick, or are a geographic peeping Tom, this is the tool for you.

It seems to be mostly toll booths, roads and border crossings, but there’s some other nice stuff mixed in as well.

(Thanks Miran!)

Not to be a nitpick, but the site says
“Spletne Kamere po Sloveniji” and I bet Udine or Cres are not in Slovenia :)

They should reference this map during border negotiations with Croatia. Like as a footnote in the blue book, or whatever it was the government published a while back.

I can imagine Dimitrij Rupel text-messaging to his Croatian counterpart: “I can see you! Don’t mess with me!” :D

and what’s about Monfalcone webcam, called Tzcz or something like that?

it seems vowels are not allowed to pass the border… (trieste=trst prosciutto= prsct et cetera) :-D

(I sell vowels for cheap. take them as you please!) aaaaahahahahhahaha eheheheh.

Hey that’s really useful. I guess you could see where there are traffic jams before going home.

THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING! THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING! THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING!
But seriously comrades, this is kind of cool, unless you have Something To Hide.

Katja, on that note: I don’t have anything to hide - but the infrastructure for surveilance is there. I am one of those people prone to dissident activity, and I am not particularly pleased to have cameras around me when I take it to the streets.

It’s not about the principle, it’s about their advantage over us.

Thanks for the link! It seems I should add “and around.”…

Could be useful sometimes. When you’re sitting in boring office on a dull day and watching sun & see. It helps!

ITA Dejan! and yes, piskec, ‘and around’ is appropriate because some of the places in this site are really in Croatia! :)
