The Price of a Pint

beer-and-boobs.jpg
Beer makes people happy, and ennobles their minds.

The following are a list of prices for lager in various countries, according to PintPrice.com:

Country Price in euros
Iceland €7.40
Norway €6.89
UAE €5.09
UK €4.03
Japan €3.86
Canada €3.71
U.S.A. €2.99
Austria €2.99
Germany €2.73
Serbia €1.78
Slovenia €1.75
Croatia €1.38
Mexico €0.92

There are some flaws with a lot of the prices, but it’s still an interesting site.

“ennobles the mind” - Is that sarasm I detect? Possibly the blond kid is just trying to read her name tag! ;-)

€1.75 ??? Where?? In Baška grapa???

If I go out for a pint of Slovene lager in Ljubljana, it’ll cost me between 2 and 2.3 euros

I agree with pengovsky. Actually link says, that you have to pay in Ljubljana EUR 1.69, while in Kranjska gora EUR 1.94.

I don’t know from when are the prices, but… In Ljubljana, at least in pubs in the centre, you have to pay at least EUR 2 per pint for the past year (further you go away from Ljubljanica river and less fancier the pub is, prices drop), though i would be very happy to see again the price tag of EUR 1.69. But hey, maybe thats the price of half-pint???

When looking to other countries, prices are for some seriously underestimated (though for Laos, where i was tasting beer in november last year, its spot on).

    Half-pint… Could be… Didn’t think of that :)

@pengovsky: Wouldn’t it make more sense to make the domain name www.half-pintprice.com in that case? :)
Anyway, I think the “database” is made up of info submitted by readers and passers-by. So obviously not all data is going to be correct…

Can’t say I’ve ever had a pint in Slovenia, or anywhere in mainland Europe. What you get is 500ml which is rather less than a pint. Does the site make this adjustment when doing its comparison. Or am I just wrong?

Anyway, I’m looking forward to extensively field trialling Slovenian beer next week in whatever quantity it comes.

but… coming back to first post… nice photo :) although not sure if can beat the Forbidden one…

ps: maybe the guy is looking for a price (size?!?) tag on her…?

Man, a freakin quintessential slovenian picture. The guy is drinking beer and he looks about 12 years old. He’s a bit pale with rosy cheeks and a farmers face. Don’t ask me how it’s a farmer’s face, it just is. Next to him the big boobed bimbo with the orange fake tan. She looks a little cross-eyed. Brilliant.

    Try SERIOUSLY cross-eyed!
