I’ve decided to add a new feature: a round-up of interesting or wonderful stuff I’ve seen on Slovenian blogs (or “Slobs”) recently. I like the idea because: firstly, there are a ton of people blogging in Slovenia and they’re churning out some good stuff; secondly, it will give me a chance to highlight some things I’ve enjoyed; and thirdly, it will allow me to make a whole new class of enemies who want to know why they were left out and do I realize what a stupid jerk I am?
Here we go!
–> Slovenia’s first directory of blogs is up for sale # Act now!
–> Sgazzetti is a father2 # I was off by 10 days
–> K-Fed jams to Bosnian turbo-folk # But not really. (Original)
–> Redesigning newspapers doesn’t help them # Does VeÄ?er know?
–> POPTV has trouble with arithmetic # Barbie was right!
–> B5 scuffles with Peter StariÄ? # (Part one, Part two) A must-read.
–> Martin Strel should reconsider swimming the Amazon # Ow.
–> Prize-winning blog Ulala’s Diary now redirects to porn # NSFW.
–> Wordpress 2.1 is out # NOOoooo.
Have a nice weekend!

It is simply not possible to delete a Blogger account. I guess I was lucky that my old blog redirects to some loan sharks or something similar.
Poor Ulala
The first time I saw this happen was with the blog The Daily Czech, which is now a gigantic spam farm. Even the comments are all spam. I think the lesson here is to just delete all your posts and put up a single post saying “This blog doesn’t exist anymore.”
Does anyone know why Ulala quit?
They (Blogger FAQ) do tell you to delete as much information as possible and to disallow comments, but it is enough that the account remains. I converted the language into Japanese and now all Blogger commentboxes appear in Japanese especially for me and I do have problems commenting sometimes, especially if moderation is involved. I hope I made them angry, though.
Ulala wrote on her blog she was happy again with her boyfriend and didn’t feel like writing anymore.
What’s the problem? Free porn is good
Even though I had to combat the sudden surge of pop-ups to the point of getting cramps in my index finger
Nice fellow, this candirú guy. Yikes!
Many thanks for inclusion among the slobs!
Same here! I made the cut… I just don’t know if it was the post or maybe Michael just doesn’t want me as his enemy
Mio carissimo Michele… come potreste fare questo a me?
You don’t let me another option but to send a couple of friends… who will force you to migrate to WP 2.1 during the weekend…
Ciao, amicco!
I happened to read the last blog posted by Ula, which was sometime in December. I say ‘read’ but I know very little Slovenian, thereforeI could make out maybe 1% of the gist. She did say something about her lover and she also mentioned something about taking insulin shots etc.
To Alecssa: For Ula’s sake I hope God is in His heaven and all is well in Ulala’s world, though I fear that may not be the case. In her blog, Ula came across as a lovely and vivacious young lady, albeit somewhat silly and naive. She seemed to live an extended adolescent life, divorced from the realities of the world around her. Also, I’ll go so far as to say that she didn’t quite come across as ‘real’, she conveyed the impression (at least to me) of someone performing on stage yearning the applause!
She would have completed her studies by now, right? For a person like her, hassles like having to find a real job in contemporary Slovenia would be like a slap on the face. I sincerely hope I’m mistaken, and that she’s really quite fine. Sorry for sounding pessimistic.
Dear Well-Wisher,
I’m not really sure we are talking about the same Ula :-).
Thank you for adding my video link to this list of SLObs, nice little round-up of different happenings going on here this week you did.
Thank you for your concern. Unfortunatelly, Ula stopped writting her blog because she didn’t (and still doesn’t) have the Internet connection at her new home (athough trying to get one really hard). I just couldn’t do it at work. I really wanted to “say goodbye”, but then sth happened; My parents let me know that about a month ago their cooworkers had warned them about me, writing very personal and intimate family subjects and about me, writing nasty about my parents!? So, we were all very hurt and in shock I just pushed the delete button. I was very sad, but I felt I had to do it right away and I had no time to say goodbye. It was for my family’s best - due to my stupid mistake - not being anonymous. Otherwise, I am happy, in love and busy. Oh, and I am 25 now, I had my BD yesterday
Sorry for spamming your blog, Michael. For the last time I am appologizing for my poor English. Thank you for supporting me in the past year and good luck to you all ;))
Ula: glad to hear you’re well (happy belated birthday) and it looks like your blog now redirects to a harmless 404. Hope you’re planning on returning someday (incognito, perhaps) but more gloriously than ever.
Regarding the selection of slobs: I just wandered around and pulled out links that I found particularly interesting or just plain hilarious, like the K-Fed video. There was no real method to my madness. Yet.
