Radlje, by Hans van der Meer. (source)
Dutch photographer Hans van der Meer traveled around Europe taking pictures of low-league football matches. It’s a beautiful collection and includes a lovely photo of Radlje, Slovenia.
Over at Metafilter, I also found this comment to be pretty insightful:
“i love how 2 of the 3 pictures from italy have some knob rolling around the pitch in fake agony. i guess it’s systemic.”
The complete collection can be seen here.

But not just in Italy! Acting talent is a prerequisite for any sucessful footbal career. Just look at Materazzi-Zidane duel. Or Slovene players like Acimovic….
OOoooh, it’s “snowy-banner-season” again. Yippeeeeeee!
Actually, it’s Radlje, Slovinia.
Class - the comment in particular. And glad the word soccer is nowhere in sight.
So much about acting talent. Check out this video clip.
Apropos of nothing:
From This Blog will be Deleted by Tomorrow comes this post that connects failure with both Slovakia and Slovenia.
So a Gender Institute was possibly going to possibly be in Ljubljana? Michael, this seems like a topic for you to feast on, if I may be making suggestions here…
Darko: I saw that, and was surprised Slovenia didn’t get it. But I think Slovenia will get a consolation prize — some other institute or what-not. The nice thing about the EU is nobody leaves empty handed.
Sunshine: It’s funny cause it’s true.
