Brigitte ♥ Janez

bardot-and-drnovsek.gif
Of the two, only Drnovšek has aged gracefully.

Brigitte Bardot, a former mannequin turned full-time nutter, recently wrote a gushing fan letter to Slovenia’s president Janez DrnovÅ¡ek. Bardot usually supports neo-fascists like Le Pen, so this was a bit of a departure for her. But, as Reuters explains, she really adores his commitment to animal rights.

DrnovÅ¡ek’s change from straight-edge politician to New Age guru has attracted a lot of attention from foreign media. Here are two other recent stories:

* Slovenian President Finds Peace and Wants to Share It (NYT profile)
* Slovenia’s New Age president delights many — but others say he isn’t fit to lead (AP)

I think Slovenia will really miss him when he’s gone.

    The blinking. The blinking.

Defending animal rights is okay. But her statements about gays and racially mixed marriages are simply disgusting (at least for me) :(

I wrote about this on my blog a few days ago.

Well, just like BB was once a sex symbol, JD was too (unbelievable as it may sound). So I guess they deserve each other :)

DrnovÅ¡ek compares very well with “conventional” politicians - Bush and Blair for example. Would anyone swap him for either of these? You will certainly miss him when he’s gone.

DrnovÅ¡ek gone? Never. He will be always with us - maybe not in any conventional sort of way, but thru his spirit, heightened sense of reality and baking. It would also be nice if he still loved us, but that’s probably too much to ask.

Would she still love him if she knew that he’s gay?

Considering that Janez is 16 years Brigitte’s junior, he is curently most probably reliving his teenage years and fapping away to images of young Brigitte.

@Poulette: Drni is gay? I mean, I’ve heard the roumors, but…

Is he? Just because a man likes flamboyant headgear, smiles lopsidedly, cruises through ravages of life and talks eloquently about pesticides? To misquote Catherine Tate’s Derek Faye: “Who, dear? He, dear? Gay, dear? No, dear.”

by tadej on December 8, 2006 at 9:21 pm

@Pengovsky: my gaydar sure picks up some strong signals at the sight of him, that’s all I can say.

@Tadej: ROTFL! Didn’t know the tight lipped lopsided smile was an indicator of gayness though - live and learn!

by Poulette on December 8, 2006 at 10:23 pm

His tight-lipped smile always reminded me of the brown puckerstar.

Actually, I detected (t)his kind of smile on a picture of Vika PotoÄ?nik, too - at that time (election time, LDS propaganda all around) I thought this must be a kind of leftwing-intellectuals’ smile (don’t ask)…

Conserning Drnovšek phenomena I find it quite incredible that whatever a leader does he or she can get away with it. Or better, whatever a leader does, there will be allways some people who would praise him / her and others would outraged him / her. And the bigger turns in ones carier, the better.

    I praise him.

I see the picture commentary “Of the two, only DrnovÅ¡ek has aged gracefully,” as a sign of an awfully bad taste.
