The common cold, folks. May it rot in virus hell.
I’ll be back imminently. In the meantime, go check out long-time Carniola commenter and agent provocateur Pengovksy over at his new blog: Sleeping with Pengovsky! (In Slovene only)
And if there are some other new blogs that you’ve found recently, let me know in the comments. As soon as I’ve finished coughing, I’ll check ‘em out.

Michael,
Hope this isn’t the poultry flu that infected you and then your computer!?? We’ll all have to chip in and get you one of those indestructible pc’s that runs on vacuum tubes.
Same thing here. Except sniff and wipe this time.
The switch from 25 degrees in Serbia to 0 in Austria kills me.
Get well soon!
Naaah, the bird flu is comming back in full swing in ten days when we’ll celebrate St. Martin’s. There’ll be dead birds galore! Until then, Michael, try this: Colrex, Angal S and hot tea. It’s not unlike the anti-bird-flu cocktail and it does the trick for me every time.
Oh, and thanks for the promo!

Check out this new blog, quite opinionated by the looks of it.
Yeah the flu, it’s here in the gulag already too, my poor little grandbabies have been sick as dogs!
GET WELL! Rakija is the secret weapon, heated red wine does some good too.
@Pengovsky, had a shufti over there at your new place, didn’t understand too much of it, but it looks good!
My blog is of possible interest to about three people, but since this is a good opportunity to plug it, here’s the link:
I recently added some photos of Michael Palin on Mangart.
^^ As you can guess, my post was not supposed to look like this, but the link still works.
BTW, get well soon, Michael (Michael M., that is, not Palin).
@Katja: Yeah, I know… I’m thinking about switching to English, but I somewhat doubt my English is up to standards. Perhaps I will do English posts on odd days and Slovene on even ones. Like Milka Planinc with her “par-nepar” policy.
I don’t know what it is with Milka Planinc these days, she seems to be everywhere. Like here: ubipacijentic.mojblog.co.yu/
Other then that, it’s below zero in Serbia today too
I guess it’s the Pavlov reflex… Whenever cold sets in people remember the energy crisis of the late 70’s, then remember the “par-nepar” policy and viola! Milka Planinc
It wasn’t such a long walk, afterall
P.S.: I’ve joined Michael M. in the “sick in action” category… Have delevoped an ill-mannered case of angina.
Here’s a blog that might be of interest:
neretvariver.blogspot.com/
Pengovsky: When my mom had a sore throat, she asked her American doctor if it could be a case of angina, surprising him to no end. You see, the term “angina” in English refers to angina pectoris, while what we call “angina” in Slovenia (”angina tonsillaris” in Latin) is actually tonsillitis.
So unless you are currently suffering from a serious heart condition, you probably don’t have angina.
BTW, thanks for the link!
@WWU: But of course… One more reason on my part not to blog in English
Apparently I didn’t learn anything while dating a doctor
@Katja - I tried the Rakija. Cold didn’t get any better. (Or is the Rakija’s job to just not let it get worse?)
Actually, the proper procedure with rakija is to get stiff drunk. The following morning you are either sick as a dog or completely cured. There’s no middle ground
The rakija middle ground is to stay blind drunk so you don’t even care whether you’re sick as a dog or cured! Either way, your mind’s off that damned cold!
Are you ill.I hope you get better soon.I miss your writing:)
