Cleaning Lady vs. Toilet Users

cistilka1.jpg
PLEASE USE THE BRUSH!!! — Cleaning lady, Janitor

cistilka2.jpg
I tried the brush but it hurts, so I prefer using toilet paper.

USE THE BRUSH FOR THE BOWL (You make me laugh, farmer) — Cleaning lady

To add carons change your regional settings to SL.

(Thanks Alcessa!)

This is Carnioliana at its finest. In addition to our parking fracas and then the “hočemo luč” thing, we’ve noticed a lot of signage wars going on in our building and its surroundings. It’s nice to see signs put to lighter use. Thanks.

“You make me laugh, farmer” is my new joke response.

Wow, Regional Settings meets Toilet Humour.

    Priceless.

Hilarious! “Farmer” should give the cleaning lady some credit for at least typing her notices on the computer, carons or not…

Am I only one, who feels sorry for the cleaning lady, who has to clean the toilets after a pig? He should have been ashamed of him self, that someone has to remind him about essentials and not being smart about it.

darling it is the absurdity of the situation that is funny. I work in a place full of people and I am appaled by their “toilet behaviour”. And this are young people full of selfimportance but then again one wonders about their upbringing. Do you think they do this at home?

I think the word “seljaćino” would be better translated to redneck. In this use case, the word implies ill or no education coupled with backwards mentality . In english the word farmer hardly implies those, while redneck does so.

The tiles remind me very much of Rožna dolina…

Actually some variant of the word for ‘farmer’ or ‘villager’ is used as an insult in nearly all South East European languages/countries! How do people think that they eat? :)

Almost as funny is the Google ad on the right that was prompted by this entry:

    “urination cone women
peeing or urinating standing up urination aid urine sample
    www.urinelle.biz

    Carlitos: I see you’ve played MI. :)

In Michael’s defence: This photos have been circulating the net for some time now. They landed in my mailbox only a day after you posted them - without any source quoted. You might want to consider waternarking your photos in the future.

So “Å¡koljka” means the toilet bowl (and/or other types of bowls) in Slovene? That’s going to be a nice addition to my false friends collection - the (ostensibly) closest Czech word is “Å¡kolka”, which means “kindergarten”. :)

by Most on November 17, 2006 at 4:44 pm

  • 20

No, “Å¡koljkaâ€? refers only to toilet bowls, not any other kinds - though the more common meaning of the word is “seashell.”
