Kostelić Calls it Quits

Nika Mulec delivers the sad news of Kostelić’s sabbatical on live TV.

Since Slovenia prides itself on its Alps, and since Slovenes are almost universally fanatical about skiing, it’s always been a bit of a bummer that arch-rival Croatia produced a world-class skiier like Janica Kostelić.

Still: you’d think that her recent decision to skip this season wouldn’t so obviously delight this nation’s sportscasters…

(Thanks Miran!)

Pathetic! I’m glad the Slovenes who do agility are not so “nevoÅ¡Ä?ljivi” towards their Croatian neighbors and fellow competitors. On the contrary, at the recent world championships in Basel, we Slovenia fans were rooting just as hard for the Croatians. Croatia won the team agility (www.bordercollie.hr/),
Slovenia was poised to come second but one of our team members slipped and fell on the course and was penalized, which dropped Slovenia into 4th place.

It’s not just in skiing that Slovenia and Croatia produce world-class competitors–they’re tops in agility too!

Well… the whole slovene nation is now delighted as one of Tina’s strongest competitor is gone… for a year… maybe that was funny…

Regarding the presenter… this already happened a few times (uncontrolled laugh) on POP-TV… :)

Oh no! Laughing while talking about her unbearable pain - I’d call it bad taste…

Eh, it most probaly has absolutely nothing with the news itself. Someone on the other side was making funny faces or sth.

O: I think so too. I just thought it was funnier to suggest she woudl so openly delight in someone’s misery.
