Just Another Day on Slovenia’s Streets

ljubljana cows.jpg
And here I thought Ljubljanians were mostly frog hunters

My guess is that the consumption of alcohol played a considerable role in the planning, execution and conclusion of this operation. I hope there weren’t any casualties.

Here’s another picture of the poor cow

(Thanks Dejan!

Nah, I don’t think there were any casualties. After all, it was just the driver’s (inflatable) four-legged, uhm, girlfriend, right?

Funny… when I see this kind of picture taken somewhere in Bulgaria I smile. But when I see it taken on Ljubljana bypass I want to beat the sh-t out of that driver :) What an idiot…

The consumption of alcohol played a considerable role maybe befor driving, but surely befor the procreation of the driver!

As for frog hunting ljubljana people … up until a few years ago, there used to be these way cool garbage bins in shape of frogs. They were huge bronze frogs, sitting on small pediestals with their mouth wide open, very convenient for people to drop their trash in. There is still one left in front of the castle, but the old town used to be full of them. Here’s a pic.

I’ve done that stretch of highway many a time, but never, ever have I experienced this method of animal transportation. After a while of visiting this blog, one is tempted to change the cliché expression ‘Only in America’ into ‘Only in Slovenija’. Just (still) tempted, though :-P…

    Excuses:

“I know it’s cramped officer but the sheep and pigs are taking up the entire back seat”

“I gave this guy called Jack a handful of beans for it. How am I SUPPOSED to get it home”

    “Cow? What cow? AAARRGGHH!

That shows the versatility of VW Golf :) Why getting a truck if you can get a Golf. Oh yes, and in the back you can put a cow. That could be another selling point of the car

Damn! I was going to give the “got milk?” but ‘haha’ beat me to it (sort of)

Are the frog bins no longer at Bled? I have a picture of one but I am technoligically challenged and I don’t know how to send a copy of it. (Why do I have a picture of a frog bin? I like frogs. Shut up. I don’t have them in my car…)

@Matty: Yes, and it’s one of the very first Golf 2 from the middle of the 80ies - and still alive. The cow should be proud to travel in it. :-)

Actually judging by the picture it’s a calf, a young bull. One would get little milk from this poor animal.
