An unfinished post accidentally went live. Sorry about that. I took it back down and will repost it soon.
Ahh, the joys of getting older. Can anyone recommend a nice retirement home?

How about Crni les? :))))
hrastovec?
I think Hrastovec might be the perfect match. Unfortunately, I think they’re closing it within a few years. (The castle part of the asylum, at any rate)
I hate it when they break out like that. Hurry back.
That’s at least the second time that’s been posted this month. [Oh dear.] Obviously more drastic measures need to be taken.
I thinkyou should coordinate with Natalija Verboten. You know, be her bunk-buddy or smth.
yes take cookie’s advice! damn shame about the castle, read about it in ‘Black Lamb and Grey Falcon’ it’s been in existance for a LONG time! I recomend you get a small house by the seaside, or in the mountains, and don’t worry about old age homes.
Katja: "read about it in ‘Black Lamb and Grey Falcon’"Explain, explain … (are we talking about Rebecca West’s novel and what has this to do with Michael’s unposted post?)
Interesting that you call it a novel Luka, it’s a book she wrote with a few names changed about her triip through what then was Yugoslavia, and she and her husband were taken by their guide to a castle sanitarium where they were fed a glorious meal on a cold winter day.She felt that the people there were dealt with better in many ways than in similar institutions in England at the same time.
OK, bad word: it’s more of a travelogue (but with the size of "War and Peace": which is the reason I’ve never read it). I didn’t know she mentioned Hrastovec … well, then there is no doubt: Hrastovec it is!
