A Yugo sandwich in Maribor. (Press play to watch)
You’ve probably heard of carpooling as a method of saving gas. Well, there’s a Styrian alternative: strapping three cars on top of each other. Since only one car needs gas, everybody wins!
Mariborians: putting the mental in environmentalism.
(Thanks Miran!)

I love the choice of colors
Whoa, whoever was driving the bottom one sure has some major cojones. I’d expect the damn roof to cave in.
ohh man… I always knew I’m surrounded by whackos
YouTube is currently down for maintenance, in case anyone can’t see the video. In case you’re curious, though, it’s three yugos stacked together to make the flag of Yugoslavia, driving around Maribor.
I’ve recieved this by e-mail today. With all due respect to Mariborians - but this is one criminal waste of time. As if people had nothing better to do but to stack three Yugos and drive around Maribor. The person who did this must be severely disturbed - I think there is a slang word to describe such people: attention whores. Sorry, but I really think this prank was stupid
Methinks this would be an effective way of getting mad / blind grannies [In their Yugos, natürlich. Although I won’t give names.] off the road, as it were.
Mr. Pengovsky,A complete waste of time? What better alternative than a momentary visual joke can one come up with with a Yugo? Plus, weren’t two additional parking spaces given up?
@Darko V: True!! :)) But in all honesty - it was nothing more than a bad replica of jackass. And I don’t buy that as enternainment either
@ pengorsky, I thought it was funny, ok call me low-brow but sometimes I like watching Jackass, especially after a few shots of rakija, but seriously some roof on them thar Yugos! seriously!
I bet the roof was reinforced majorly. Otherwise this would be a total suicide mission. An average car roof can withstand loads of up to 100kg. So that’d probably be around 50kgs in Yugo’s case.
Ok, this was a replica of Jackass, but the idea was original. I don’t belive Americans are familiar with Yugoslav flag. This was one of the clips shown on TV show Tvoj problem on TV3 (after svitching to KANAL A it changed in Problem). Some were god and some not so god, but the guys were young and doing it for their own pleasure. Anyway I think it’s good that someone is (was) at least doing something. Or trying to do something. And I believe there are also some other clips on www.tvojproblem.com. If anyone is interested.
Thanks svetlana! I knew it looked kind of familiar.
