Hell breaking loose at a Slovenian hockey match. Click to watch.

Crni kindly sent along this video of a battle royale that took place between two top Slovenian clubs: Acroni Jesenice and Olimpija Ljubljana. For more testosterone-fueled aggression, take a look at Olimpija’s splash page.

I love hockey, it’s one of the few sports I like to enjoy live. Sure,
there is some occasional fighting from time to time, but something like
these is pretty rare. It’s hard to say what really happened, usually a
fight like this doesn’t happen without a reason. There must be a story
behind: extra pressure, very important game, unfair ’sodnik’ etc…
I’d appreciate if somebody who watched the match could reveal the background.

why don’t the authorities change the rules of football and start allowing this as a means for the players to sort out their disputes???? It doesn’t matter what spport it is, paying fans love to see a fight on the field of play.

Are you sure about the names of the teams? It looks more like this fight has broken out between the Opel team and the Hit Casino team and the Ford representatives are trying to break it up.I know I must be out of things, because the last time I watched a hockey game, the jerseys had the names of the team members — and the teams — on them. The players weren’t sandwich boards for car companies.

While this fisticuffs exhibition was quite interesting, especially
    when
the padding-laden goalies started dancing cheek-to-cheek, nothing could
beat (sorry!?!) a fight that a certain Mr. Tie Domi of the Toronto
Maple Leafs had when he visited the City of Brotherly Love,
Philadelphia. (Click on the second fight listed here brawlvideos.com/category/sports-fights/ )Seems
that Mr. Domi, concerned and empathetic of the hot-headed fans in
Philly, who were seated behind the penalty box (a favorite haunt of Mr.
Domi), decided to relieve their high temperatures by squirting a few
chosen ones with a swig of his holy water.See what happens next
when every hockey fan’s dreams/nightmares come to pass, by clicking on
the video of the encounter.   Old time hockey, at its best. Crni, the video you provided was a great clip to ponder.

Great clip, Darko, and a great page as well.Katja: What is this "game" concept, of which you speak? Is that what they do in-between fights?
