Vesel Boži?!

merry xmas.jpg
Hope your Christmas was merry and bright and spinning.

However you say it, and according to this site, it’s "vesele bozicne" in Slovene — which is wrong, but for that matter so are the Serbian, Russian, Dutch, Romanian, and Hungarian translations — I hope you had a nice, peaceful and blessed Christmas.

Carniola will return after the new year. See you in 2006!

Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

P.S. At least for Serbian translation on this site — You are right that it is not correct translation, but…

In Serbia, people would put Srećan Božić / Срећан Божић on, for example, cards or in ads. But when you meet somebody on Christmas Day or some time after, you would great him with ‘Hristos se rodi’ (Christ is born) and other person would answer ‘Vaistinu se rodi’ (He is born, indeed).

They didn’t even bother haveing it at all in Bosnian! and I suspect
the Arabic was wrong too because the Arab Christians I knew said
something different. Sretan Bozic, i sretan novi godina!

What, no happy christmas in Sanskrit??? Maybe they would say Happy
Divali? Well it certainly looks like holiday of light (and thunder)
    outside…

Just to put my two cents here: Merry christmas to everybody, as far as 2006 is concerned, I wish us all peace on Earth and goodwill towards men (OK, I know it sounds corny, but peace and goodwill are seriously lacking lately)

Sretna Nova Godina, Michael, and the very best to the newly improved
and enlarged Familia Manske.  It’s been a year of happiness and
sorrow, so you’ve run the gamut of family life.Forward in all directions in 2006!

Fantastic blog — but I’m not sure if it’s a good thing that more people are discovering Slovenia, or a bad thing. Friends coming to NYC from Kranj and Ljubljana in February, and I’ll be visiting again in April. It’s hard to keep Americans away once they’ve met Slovenes!   Happy new year.
