The glorious coat of arms of Carniola, as drawn by Valvasor.
The Societas Heraldica Slovenica (SHS) has put together a wonderful online collection of Slovenian heralds, including the one above for Carniola, which was drawn by his gloriousness Janez Vajkard Valvasor in the Opus Insignium Armorumque. The site also has a complete collection of all 193 municipal coats of arms of Slovenia, which range in style from cool to threatening to not-quite-very-exciting.
Here is a nice page to start browsing. On the left side, you’ll see a list of all the available types of arms.
(Thanks David!)

Who granted you permission to publish my beautifully drawn coat of arms
on this new thing called internet. My lawyer will be the next thing you
see.
Thanks for the link MM. Oh, and Valvasor, that’s hillarious. :)
Now, wouldn’t this look much better as Slovenian coat of arms, than the triple tirangle called Triglav?
Valvasor: twelve points (douze points) for that comment. Made my day. :)For the record: Using the picture was the idea of the man who’s been working on this project, David. He’s been doing a wonderful job so far, so I hope he gets some love.
Quite a 180 change from yesterday’s post. From no coats (or other
clothes) to coats of arms. You are a true Renaissance man of the
blogosphere.
cool link! Hey are Slovenians litigious or something? if so I’ll never
move there. I’d rather take my chances on ethnic cleansing and land
mines thank you!
Now there’s an idea for a new Slovenian flag! Half black / half white (traditional carantanian colours),with a diagonal line separating the two colours and that coat of arms in the upper corner or the middle. I’d like to see someone mistaking THAT for Slovakian one.
