The Glory of Carniola

The Societas Heraldica Slovenica (SHS) has put together a wonderful online collection of Slovenian heralds, including the one above for Carniola, which was drawn by his gloriousness Janez Vajkard Valvasor in the Opus Insignium Armorumque. The site also has a complete collection of all 193 municipal coats of arms of Slovenia, which range in style from cool to threatening to not-quite-very-exciting.

Here is a nice page to start browsing. On the left side, you’ll see a list of all the available types of arms.
