I have a weakness for news bloopers; they please me in my soul. They don’t have to be outrageous –
just enough to strip down the stern veil of broadcast journalism for a
brief moment or two. To that end, the above clip (from a Croatian
news program) features a wonderful zen moment when the anchorman (left) asks the reporter in Brussels (right)
what information he has. The reporter — who obviously has no idea he’s
on air — starts singing numbers for what seems to be an audio test.
I tip my hat to the anchorman for managing to keep it together. (Although he’s certainly not made of stone, as this other clip demonstrates.)
(Thanks Miran!)

It must be terrible to know that all your mistakes at work will be seen by hundreds of people. Is it not?
… And that’s why I’m glad to be in print journalism!
