Earth from Above

croatian coast adriatic.jpg
The Eastern Adriatic by the great Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

There is currently an exhibition of photographs by Yann Arthus-Bertrand on display in Ljubljana. if you can’t make it, you can get a taste of his work online by visiting this gorgeous page: La Terre vue du Ciel (Earth from Above) Besides the beautiful photos, the site also has detailed descriptions of what’s going on and where you are. That’s very helpful.

Slovenia is, sadly, not among the countries shown. All of its neighbors are, however. (The picture above shows the famous Kornati Islands in Croatia.)

The exhibition is in Tivoli Park in Ljubjana and will last until the end of July. Entry is free.

(Thanks KaÄ?a!

This makes me think of my to-do list. High on it is "ascend with camera
high above this beautiful nation in hot-air balloon". Who among the
Glory’s readership can recommend a good-natured and reliable
    ballooneteer?

Well, we still find the annual road death toll outrageous (at least
the journalists). I don’t know how much different it is but in
Thess/niki I didn’t find it too difficult to survive - though admitedly
its different from Ljubljana and I had a lot of earlier experience from
Serbia :-) BTW, a Bulgarian told me that he was really pleasantly
surprised when he came to Greece, as the Greeks are so good and safe
drivers :-) And before Michael protests, Maribor is no less beautiful than
Ljubljana, it’s just that Ljubljana is the capital and so it gets more
    attention.

    Thess/niki = different from Athens,not better or worse,but
    different, roads,buses,prices,traffic,taxis,people,buildings….they
say μπουγάτσα με τυρί, we say cheesepie, and other major differences… ;-) lol
Greek taxis can be wonderful or terrible. Is just that there is
no ‘average’,But you know why we drive safe? we dont have the space
to speed driving…due to (tataaaa) traffic!!! Ok, in the post-metro
era (now) things are a bit better (/)
I know Maribor is also very nice :-).Generally i find your country
    very beautiful . Here
also we have the impression that theres no pollution in Slovenia.
