New Feature: Ask the Glory of Carniola

I get a lot of e-mails from people asking me about Slovenia. Most of them ask me questions like "How do I get a visa?", or "How do I get a job there?", or "Where’s a good place to hide a body — please hurry, no time to explain!"

Other people ask me about things I have no idea about. Occasionally it’s really specific like: "What’s the name of Valvasor’s second-cousin’s wife’s brother? In Latin, please, and hurry, I need it now. No time to explain!"

Because of this, I’ve decided to dedicate Fridays to answering some of these questions.1 I think it might be nice, since there aren’t too many places you can actually go to get specific information about Slovenia — especially if you want independent answers. There are some junk sites 2 and there are also some official clumsy sites with things like:

Question: Is Slovenia a good place to invest money in or visit as a tourist?"
Answer: Yes.

The other advantage of doing this is that most of the people reading this site know more about Slovenia than I ever will. If everyone adds their own comments and answers, a lot of interesting stuff will probably come out of it. I’m sure I will learn a lot, and perhaps people curious about this country will as well. I certianly hope they do.

So, if you have a question about Slovenia or anything Slovenia-related, just send it to this e-mail address:

AskTGoC@gmail.com

Hope to hear from you!

1.

I have a backlog already that I will try to work through. Apologies in advance to everyone who sent me an e-mail and hasn’t heard back from me yet.

2. By this I mean those sites that have content like: "Slovenia Slovakia Switzerland viagra free trial Slovenia buy online pharmacy viagra Slovenia" etc…

Wow. I think that by now Republika Slovenija should create you its honorary consul in, ehm, well, Slovenia.

Maybe we should leave this one for when / if you move out of the country, say to Slovakia.
    ;-)

    Very nice!

I wanted to have a “Fast Food Friday” feature on my blog, but I haven’t updated it in months. I guess Friday is just a special day of the week for features. :)
