Happy 2005

Srecno_novo_leto
"As he rose like a rocket, he fell like the stick."

On December 14, 1583, Styrians and Carinthians adopted the Gregorian calendar, as decreed by the Inter Gravissimas of Pope Gregory XIII, servant of the servants of God, ad perpetuam rei memoriam. Yesterday, that happy little calendar celebrated its 427th first of January.

We also completed one full tropical year. Tomorrow, we will complete another one. And then again and again and again until the end of time. Happy New Year!

Yow! I got a very nice shortwave radio for Twinkletree, and waving it fairly randomly at the ether this evening I picked up Insight Central Yoorp, incorporating stuff from Radio Slovenia International featuring, if I am not especially mistaken, your own self.

Shortwave, isn’t it? It’s the Interweb of Futures Past!

I’m amazed you picked it up, and even more amazed that you recognized me. I haven’t done anything for them since mid-December, but I see now that they aired a “year-in-review” thing on New Year’s Eve. (There’s a RealAudio clip of that here.) I’m guessing that’s what it was.

And now you know the rest of the story!
