What if Slovenia Voted for America’s President?

According to the numbers on BetaVote.com, John Kerry would overwhelmingly defeat George W. Bush — if the presidential elections were held worldwide. Of course, the poll is hugely flawed. You can say you’re from Vanuatu if you want, and you can vote multiple times as well. They trust users to be honest, which is always a recipe for disaster.

For what it’s worth, here are the current figures given for Slovenia:

Votes Percent
Bush Kerry Bush Kerry
343 5924 5% 94%

As lop-sided as it seems, this probably isn’t too far from the truth. I haven’t met a single Slovene who supports Bush. But I have met very, very, very many who don’t.

(Thanks, Mitja!)

Some very odd results there, not least the one that shows Bush “winning” North Korea.

Definitely. Also suspect: the relatively high number of votes from places like Antarctica, the Vatican, and Pitcairn (pop. 50)

That doesn’t surprise me. If Bush ran against Satan, I would probably vote for Satan.
