It’s Bloomsday 100 today.

You probably know that James Joyce spent 16 years in Trieste, but did you know that he may have spent a night in Ljubljana? One-hundred years ago, according to his authorized biographer, Joyce and his wife, Nora, accidentally got off the train in Ljubljana — thinking it was Trieste. They spent the evening in the park, then continued on their journey the next morning.

And that’s the exciting story of Joyce in Ljubljana. Happy Bloomsday!

This site is certified 70% GOOD by the Gematriculator
The Glory of Carniola: 70% good and loving it.

The Gematriculator uses “the infallible methods of Gematria developed by Mr. Ivan Panin to determine how good or evil a web site or a text passage is.”

It works like this:

Basically, Gematria is searching for different patterns through the text, such as the amount of words beginning with a vowel. If the amount of these matches is divisible by a certain number, such as 7 (which is said to be God’s number), there is an incontestable argument that the Spirit of God is ever present in the text.

Can’t argue with that.

(Thanks, talos!)
