New EU Members & Google

Just for the hell of it, here’s a list of the incoming EU member states, how many hits they have on Google (via their English name) and what the most popular result is:

New EU Members & Google
Country Google Hits (in millions) Top Result
Poland 15.60 CIA World Factbook
Hungary 12.20 Hungarian Home Page
Malta 12.00 Visit Malta
Cyprus 10.40 Visit Cyprus
Estonia 8.18 CIA World Factbook
Czech Republic 8.05 Czech.cz
Slovenia 7.89 Slovenia Tourism
Latvia 7.62 CIA World Factbook
Lithuania 7.47 CIA World Factbook
Slovakia 7.37 Slovakia.org

You’re probably thinking to yourself: “What’s the point of all this?”

Well, as Captain Hill says to Eriksson in Casualties of War: “There ain’t no point, Eriksson. I’m simply trying to illuminate the terrain in which we currently find ourselves deployed.”

    Hi!

Nice idea. I checked the Seti@home ranks. Results are quite different.

    David: Thanks for the link!

I also quite like your table design. It tickles my cherries a lot more than my own grotesque ones do.

No problem. Thanks to you for great posts!

And if you didn’t notice, I just started my own blog yesterday. It will be more on the technical/personal side.

If its any consolation, “United Kingdom” only gets a wee bit over 10 million.

“United States of America” only gets 4 million. As does “European Union”

Of course, USA, gets 130 million…
