You can’t go wrong with Goweja meso tenstano. (Click to enlarge!)

Ok, here it is: I’ve finally found it: the (in)famous Goesser menu which was on tables in the V.I.P. tent at Zlata lisica (the golden fox ski competition) arround 1990, right around the time when Bojan Krizaj stopped skiing professionally and went into business. He signed a contract with the Goesser brewery and started importing their beer. The company those days was the general sponsor of ski competitions in Slovenia (Maribor, Kranjska Gora). And made a laughing-stock of itself with this.

If you can’t read Slovenian, don’t panic because this menu isn’t in Slovenian. It’s like a whole new language. Like something Tolkien might create by mixing Slovenian, German, Croatian and Elvish into one big pile of words. It’s wonderful.

Also, if anyone knows what “omw” means, I would love to know. (It appears often in the menu.)

(Many, many thanks to bnf!)

In some online games like Everquest, ‘omw’ means ‘on my way’.
