Krvav cetrtek v Spanski prestolnici (Vecer)

In an editorial for the national paper Delo entitled Evropski 11. September, Damijan Slabe writes:
Super gnusno in super grozljivo hkrati. The Madrid explosions do have the hallmarks of al Qaeda: Detonating at the same time, at various locations, during rush hour, with peak crowds of unsuspecting and innocent people. It is both absolutely disgusting and absolutely horrifying.”
Slovenia’s President, Janez Drnovsek, has sent a letter of condolence to King Juan Carlos, while Slovenia’s Foreign Ministry is reporting that no Slovenian citizens have been identified among the victims so far.

I intended on posting something else for today, but I keep thinking about Madrid and in particular one quote from a survivor named Ana Maria, who said she “saw a baby torn to bits.”
It’s difficult to imagine how many people are living an unending nightmare in Madrid right now. And it’s equally difficult to imagine why some people were so eager to inflict it upon them. I only hope that Ana Maria and everyone else suffering right now can find some peace in the future.
